Henkel patented two-step process for auto body surface treatment at Audi

Henkel patented Bonderite two-step process for auto body surface treatment at Audi. (Photo: Henkel, PR039)Düsseldorf, Germany – In cooperation with Audi, Henkel has developed an auto body pre-treatment process. The patented two-step process enables surface treatment of multi-metal auto bodies with an aluminum content of up to 100 percent. In zinc phosphating, which was the conventional process, the volume of waste products increases as the aluminum content of mixed material bodies rises. These are very costly to remove from the pre-treatment bath and the surfaces that are treated in them.

MAPAL uses sustainable Bonderite duaLCys process from Henkel in its metalworking operations

(Photo © Henkel, PR043)Aalen/Düsseldorf – MAPAL Dr. Kress KG uses the innovative Bonderite duaLCys process from Henkel in its metal cutting operations to produce special tooling for drilling heads in the mining industry. The synergistic combination of a water-miscible lubricant and a water-based cleaner results in a significant increase in performance while reducing energy consumption and waste generation. The process was tailored to the specific application in close collaboration between the two companies.

Henkel’s Bonderite duaLCys process is fast establishing itself as a game changer for greater efficiency and safety in machining and cleaning

Henkel’s Bonderite duaLCys process is an innovative 2-component process where the cleaner can be recycled into the lubricant bath. The dual system, which features pre-cleaning during machining, offers low foam, low temperature cleaning, cooling and lubricating performance and corrosion protection. Switching to the new system can achieve cost savings of up to 40% due to less product, waste, water and energy consumption. (Photo: Henkel, PR041)Düsseldorf, Germany – Two years after it was first introduced to the metalworking market, Henkel’s innovative Bonderite duaLCys process has proven its superior cost-efficiency and sustainability over conventional cooling lubrication and cleaning processes. Most recently, the process demonstrated these advantages in a demanding precision tool machining project at German customer Mapal. Henkel will highlight Bonderite duaLCys in its exhibit at EMO 2017 in Hannover, Germany (Hall 6, Booth K01).
